He already has small block chevy in his garage he built for project it did not go in.
He said he bought & old race car. He knows I like cars, & he needs help fixing it up/put crew at the track. Then he asked if I be interested helping/pitting. It was a very quick yes. It's circle track not my preference, but it's race car regardless.

Its last race was 30 years ago, but chassis looks like it’s in decent shape. The 350 he built for his street runs, but instead he used a blown big block.

From the nerf bars peeking out from under the tarp, I’m guessing it used to be an open-wheel dirt track car.

I’m all for a fun project/challenge/helping a neighbor out, and while I am not a circle track expert, or anything else expert, that seems to be a bit rough around the edges. From what I see in the pictures the front end is a solid axle with a transverse leaf spring. You mention it not running for 30 years, suggesting it ran in the late 80's but I am thinking this was put together mid 60's from 1950's parts. That whole front end brings the sketch factor up to 11.

It’s the same spring set up on rear live axle too. S uper sketch, but looks super fun.

Neat. It shares it’s rear end suspension spring set up with cars like the Corvette, Cadillac XLR, and . . the 2019 Volvo XC90 (I was surprised by that one ).

It’s not a typical leaf spring in the XC90(S90 & V90 too) . Rather a composite leaf spring, called the Loctite Max 2. It has was called the Max 8 have to pull the cars off the road.

From another source discussing how they use Loctite to fill a reinforced spring “... the polyurethane matrix resin Loctite MAX 2 from Henkel rapidly fills the mold and quickly yet gently impregnates the fiber material, resulting in short injection times.” Pretty steamy stuff.
